Primary Data Collection
Acquire satellite images of Myagdi from Planet Explorer
Mosaic and mask images using ArcGIS
Perform supervised image classification using maximum likelihood
Divide study area into four land cover types: Forest, Open/Agricultural Land, Urban Settlement, and Water
Set up acoustic surveys using bat detector (Echometer touch-2 pro)
Lay 5 transects of 500 meters in each land cover type
Conduct surveys from 1800 to 2100 daily, with three temporal intervals per transect
Note land cover changes during transect walk and assign echolocation calls accordingly
Conduct monitoring for 60 hours from April 2022 to June 2022
Gather relevant literature, research, articles, journal publications, and unpublished research reports
Use ArcMap 10.7.1 for supervised image classification
Analyze classification results
Categorize .wav files according to transect and land cover
Process files through Kaleidoscope by Wildlife Acoustics to filter echolocation calls and noise
Split calls into 5-second intervals using Bat analysis Mode
Analyze recordings in Raven Pro software, extract call parameters and analyze bat activity
Perform exploratory analyses using histograms, box plots, scatter plots, etc.
Use Microsoft Excel for initial analysis
Perform Independent sample t-test to compare mean values of bat passes at different hours
Perform One-way ANOVA to compare bat activity in different habitat strata
